Long Island Hoops!
Any of you new to hooping are by now painfully aware that a "hoop community'" is virtually non-existent on Long Island...until now! The essence of hooping IS community building; so, if you are looking for a regular hoop jam on Long Island, look no further:
Long Island Hoops! is a hoop group that will meet regularly at the Heritage Park in Mt. Sinai, NY. This park is located at the intersection of CR 83 and Rte. 25A, and is also known as the "wedge park". I will host a weekly hoop jam at Heritage Park on Wednesdays from 4pm to about 5 or 5:30 pm. The jam will meet at 4 on the main amptheater lawn, adjacent to the main barn-shaped building. This weekly jam will be free for all, and all are welcome regardless of age, ability, knowledge of hooping, etc.
Please bring water and wear comfortable clothes. I will bring hoops for participants to use, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own if you have! Also, bring family and friends! I am always looking for volunteers to help out by bringing water, CDs, musical instruments such as tambourines and drums, hoops, etc.

Hoopers of all levels (even complete beginners) are welcome and encouraged to come! If possible, list your town in the email so that I can email you directions to the jam.
Because many new hoopers do not have their own hoops, I will supply as many loaners as I can to be used at our get-togethers. I also sell hoops, and you can find simple instructions to make your own at: hooping.org (This site is a virtual mecca for anyone into hooping!) Also, if you do have hoops, please bring them for yourself--and maybe some to share.
NOTE: If the jam needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather (especially as winter approaches), I will post a cancellation notice no later than Wednesday morning in my Blog located on this website. THE JAM WILL HAPPEN UNLESS I POST OTHERWISE IN MY BLOG ON THIS SITE. We can hoop in the snow; I've done it before! :)
If Long Island is ever to make a name for itself in the hooping community, it must start with us. We need each other!
